The F4S programme, a collaboration between the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), was launched locally in Seychelles on Thursday, the 23rd March 2023.
In attendance at the event were H.E. Mr. Wavel Ramkalawan, the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Mr. Ralph Jean-Louis, Principal Secretary for Youth and Sports, Mrs. Fatimata Sidibe, Fifa’s F4S programme Director, Mr. Elvis Chetty, President of the Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) and Mr. Jean Pierre Latour, Honorary Consul of Seychelles in Switzerland.
40 educators have been trained by Fifa F4S Manager Mr. Antonio Sanchez and the Technical Consultant Mr. Alberto Giacomini.
The programme aims to contribute to the education, development and empowerment of children by making football more accessible to both boys and girls worldwide. It seeks to incorporate football activities into the education system in partnership with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
The Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) will run the programme locally, alongside the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Family, and the National Sports Council (NSC).
