The Republic of Seychelles has formally appointed Ms. Cillia Ardyna Mangroo as its new Permanent Representative in Geneva<\/strong>. She presented her credentials to Ms. Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, during a ceremony held on 8 September 2025.<\/p>\n Ambassador Mangroo\u2019s Background<\/strong> \u2022 Executive Director, Minister\u2019s Secretariat, Ministry of Finance, National Planning and Trade (2022\u20132024) Ms. Mangroo has also represented Seychelles at several international negotiations, including serving as the Head of Delegation for Seychelle\u2019s accession to the World Trade Organization (2008 \u2013 2015) and as a Member of the Seychelles negotiating team for the Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union (2007 \u2013 2022).<\/p>\n Ambassador Mangroo holds a master\u2019s degree in International Commerce Law, Contracts and Dispute Resolution, and a bachelor\u2019s degree in Finance and Economics.<\/p>\n The Importance of This Appointment<\/strong> Collaboration with the Consulate in Zug<\/strong> Key areas of collaboration will include:<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Ensuring that nationals and interests represented in Switzerland are informed and supported in multilateral processes where Seychelles participates in Geneva, especially regarding the United Nations and other international institutions.<\/p>\n \u2022 Coordinating on trade and economic diplomacy matters, especially where Switzerland and the region host meetings or institutions relevant to Seychelles\u2019 development priorities.<\/p>\n \u2022 Fostering cooperation on climate, sustainability, human rights, and international law issues, where Ambassador Mangroo\u2019s experience will be of significant value.<\/p>\n We extend our congratulations to Ambassador Cillia Mangroo on her appointment.
